2008 Benelli TNT 899 S video!

See our first video from the Benelli TNT 899 and 899 S launch below. It sounds good, runs well and looks every bit as exotic as the original TNT 1130. It's Italian and we give you a taste of the roads that we rode between Pesaro and Urbania. On the way back we even passed the house Valentino Rossi grew up in outside of Urbino. More soon. 2008 Benelli 675 Tre triple!

After Triumph's huge success with the Daytona 675 the Italians are following. Both MV Agusta and Benelli are well on their way developing their own 675cc triple engines. Triumph found the recipe for success in the midrange sportsbike market with the 675 and will be racing in World supersport next year. This looks to be the best way forward for both Benelli and MV Agusta as well. We welcome the news because the Triumph 675 is a very exciting and competitive package. We expect to see both the Benelli 675 Tre and the MV Agusta 675 triple sportsbikes in Milan. TS

2007 Benelli Tre-K 1130 full test!

Tre-K 1130 handles really well and feels nimble despite the claimed 205kg dry weight. The chassis is the same tubular work of art as on the TNT. The swingarm in particular deserves some admiration. The German Benelli importer sold 1000 TNT’s in 2005. More than anywhere else in the world, but then he said, and I quote; “I also got a 1000 problems out of it”. The engine delivers a lot of torque and if I had felt it would be a problem I could always push the power button. Read more here. TS 2008 Buell 1125R from Laguna Seca next...

2008 Benelli Sei-Six-cylinder MotoGP engine!

I spoke to Gianluca Galasso at the Benelli factory today regarding 2008 developments. Good news are that the 756 midrange naked sportsbike is in the finishing stages and we'll hopefully be able to ride one this Autumn. The factory are currently waiting for frames.

The MX 449 project moves on and Benelli plans to move on and make an Enduro and supermotard version too.

But what excites us all is the prospect of a 6-cylinder Benelli again. Benelli Sei is a beauty from the seventies and Benelli have now developed a new 6-cylinder engine based on two current triples. First we thought this would be for a roadbike, perhaps a cruiser to brake through in the American motorcycle market. But today Benelli told me that their 6-cylinder engine is not planned for road-use! Which can only mean one thing, MotoGP. With Chinese financial backing Benelli certainly are looking to make a big impact in racing again soon. Words: Tor Sagen

How are you doing with the 756?

THE FIRST PARTS OF THE ENGINE ARE NOW IN OUR WAREHOUSE, AND WE ARE

ASSEMBLING THE FEW FIRST ENGINES,

THE FRAME SHOULD BE HERE IN THE EXPERIENCE DEPT. JUST AFTER SUMMER BREAK,

WE ARE POSITIVE TO USE THE PROTOTYPE DURING SEPTEMBER.

Are you still planning a 6-cylinder Benelli based on two triple engines?

YES, BUT FOR A DIFFERENT USE, NOT FOR ROAD USE..........!

What else can we expect from Benelli this next year?

SCOOTERS, ENDURO VERSION OF BX449 AND PROBABLY A SUPERMOTARD.

WE WILL BE AT THE PARIS SHOW AND OBVIOUSLY TO MILAN.
